And while much of the world has been mapped, we believe there's still an extraordinary amount left to discover.

Somewhere along the way, exploration became something we reserved for vacations, distant destinations, and extraordinary occasions.

We began measuring adventure by how far we traveled rather than how deeply we experienced the journey.

But adventure was never meant to be confined to the farthest corners of the globe.

It's waiting in the places we haven't noticed. In the stories we haven't heard. In the quiet moments between destinations.

At Basecamp, we believe curiosity is one of the most remarkable things we possess.

It inspires us to wander, to question, to discover, and occasionally to take the road that wasn't part of the original plan.

A NEW CHAPTER ON THE CHESAPEAKE

Location: Point Lookout, Southern Maryland

At the southernmost reaches of St. Mary's County, Maryland, two remarkable waterways converge.

The Potomac River, winding its way toward the Chesapeake Bay, meets a landscape rich with maritime history, coastal wildlife, and stories that span generations.

This is Point Lookout.

A place where the past is never particularly far from the present.

Its shores have witnessed centuries of change. Its waters have carried generations of travelers, fishermen, and explorers. Its forests, marshes, and tidal environments continue to shelter an extraordinary variety of wildlife.

There are stories here worth telling.

And discoveries worth making.

It's here, in this fascinating corner of Southern Maryland, that Basecamp Adventure Company is preparing to welcome a new generation of explorers.

Not simply to see the Chesapeake.
